==The Apple's Edge==
The Apple's Edge, prismacolor on paper, 15"x22" © 1988
Apples often come up in my paintings. I think there is the forbidden fruit aspect, but also the apple falling on
Newton's head aspect-- when he equated the motion of the apple with the motion
of the moon.
Still, when I look at an apple, it seems so benign to me.
Maybe there is the Cézanne aspect with all that fruit shifting its weight.
I find apples seem mysterious in art and myth, not so
much when they are on the table.
